Still only a microdot of humanity in a vast unspoiled wilderness!

The Four Corners

Hello! I'm Daniel Kelly and my wife is Gabriela! We have TennisLink.org and for the past 6 years we've done High Altitude Training to stay in shape for our work in some of the most incredible places that you can imagine. In 2003 we decided to drive The Four Corners and because I have family in Las Vegas, it was from there that we embarked on the day that Roy Horn was "rescued from a female heckler in the front row of the audience" at The Mirage Hotel..by his tiger Montacore..I believe. We had nothing what-so-ever to do with this incident!! We normally use RentAWreck and on this trip had a ..geez..I forget..but it worked GREAT!!

Going across Hoover Dam and the time change into Arizona ..and each successive "click" of our camera was underlined by Gabriela's incredible research and navigation, of where we were going on this 3,000 mile journey. Very soon into our trip..I was to realize that all the places we would see ..I had already seen on TV and in movies and they all felt like home! Someplace I had never been ..but always knew I'd be there. Have you ever had that feeling. The whole journey was like that for me. Combine this with Gabriela's journal ..this website is all about: Arizona and the Sonoran Desert  where you can still get an acre of land for $450; Flagstaff; Sadona ..Red Rock and Vortex heaven; Route 66 ...diners ..cafes and motels of the original ilk; Meteor Crater; Petrified Forest; Painted Desert; ..(cont top ..right column)
The following evening, after having braved the Balloon Festival crowds in Albuquerque, we pulled into Santa Fe. We had planned on spending about a week in the Santa Fe-Taos area..but ended up staying almost 2. Since we've ended up going back (Gabriela twice) and buying a property there ..lots of what you'll see here will be New Mexico related.

From the crafts and arts to the Fall leaves in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains ..to the High Desert landscape and the Pueblo Culture..we really felt at home there in the area. There's caldera (active volcanic action), Tent Rocks, Rio Grande Gorge, Angelfire, Circle of Fire ..and Colorado right around the bend!

From New Mexico we head out for Durango Colorado to do the famous Durango-Silverton Drive.

A crisp morning was Durango..we headed out on the famous drive up to Silverton ..a mining town a few dozen miles north in the mountains. We caught the train on our digital (below) before heading up..up..up! Spectacular just about covers it ..but I have to admit that I overdose sometimes on spectacular and finding words to describe how I feel about the over-abundance of greatness become harder to do.
